Surgery on Monday

Hello,
Well, I finally got the REAL go-ahead on my surgery at about 4pm today.  Talk about the 11th hour!  I go tomorrow for a full day of pre-testing.
So wish me luck on Monday - I hear I'm the first to go in!  I am so excited, not nervous at all.
I will miss my kids though.  I bought them each a present so when they come visit me at the hospital, I can distract them when they realize I won't be going home with them.  (They are only 3 and really attached to me.)
I also bought some Biotene, chapstick, a new book and really loose PJs.  I tell you, with two 3-year-olds, two nights in the hospital will seem like a vacation!
So move your shrinking butts down on the Losers Bench - be joining you soon!!

Woot woot! My surgery was on a Monday too! The pre-testing stuff is easy. You should be going to the pre-op class tomorrow too, right? You'll get lots of info there and get to see who else is having surgery Monday. I ended up having it the same day as 3 other people so it was nice walking the hospital halls with people I kinda knew.

Good luck :)

Hey Brooke,
As a matter of fact, I met two other people who are having surgery on Tuesday.  We followed eachother around to eac happt.  We should've carpooled!
It was a long day, but I am so ready for surgery now.
Take care,
Lynne

Hi Lynne...Good luck on Monday....I know you will do just fine.
The kids will be fine as well. Good idea on the kids. Also...if you are able to walk while they are there in the hospital..you can take them to the kitchen room and get a popsicle or something.
When I had my band...my daughter was 4 and she climbed into the bed with me. She wanted to see what this bed was all about.
Let us know how you do when you get home.

The most useful thing i packed was a neck pillow - i never picked up a magazine or a book (though i did have them).  i also had a small fan that was great for a breeze on the rubber mattress, noise reduction, etc.  i also recommend a robe for walking the halls.

You will do great -  i wish you the same success I've had - and MORE if possible!

Good Luck Lynnski!  The hospital stay won't feel like toomuch time at all.  be careful when you get home with the kids and lifting...you may feel pretty good in a week or two, but you still need to take it easy!
