Bittersweet day...

Hello all,
Lots of emotions going on today.
First, sadness.  We had a "double" wake for my sister's husband and his mother.    I feel really bad for the 2 sisters who have to bury both their mother and brother.  (Tomorrow is the "double" funeral.)
Because my brother-in-law was a Marine, a group of retired Marines came in, said a few words and played Taps.  I tell you, if you don't tear up when Taps is being played, something is seriously wrong with your hearing!
Here is where the next emotion comes in - joy...  This morning, I went to my weekly weigh-in and hit my pre-surgery goal.  So I finally HAVE A DATE!  It's Nov. 17th, less than 3 weeks away.
Next emotion - panic!  Now I am nervous and wonder if I really even need the surgery.  However, this emotion was fleeting because I went clothes shopping and realized I hate every item of clothing that is made in my size.  (My style is LL Bean, Lands End etc.  I can't wait til that stuff looks good on me.)
So that was my weird day.  I was telling my BFF that if one more thing was to happen today, my head would likely explode.  Thank God it didn't and it's time to sleep.
Later,
Lynne

Wooohooo and congrats! I know you've been waiting a while for a date, right? Maybe you should do Thanksgiving early LOL!

And again, sorry for your loss and I hope things work out ok for everyone.

Life has a funny way of providing balance sometimes.  While the loss of your brother-in-law (and his mother!) is tragic and you want to be supportive for your sister, you are blessed with your own new life beginning.

Please make sure to take care of yourself, especially when it is so easy to give so much to your hurting loved ones.
