I am 6 weeks post op for RYN surgery, I had absolutely no complications with the surgery at all and felt great up until a week and half ago.  Lately I have been feeling tired and weak, has this happened to anyone else

I had the Band - but are you getting in enough protein. That is very important. Along with the water.

I try to get enough protein, but some days it is really hard to get in both the protein and the water because I feel full. I will probably have to try to drink a protein shake at some point during the day, that might help.  Thanks for the advice. It is nice to be able to get help for others.

Are you taking all your vitamin supplements (especially the Iron).  Also are you getting in enough fluids and protein?  Are you eating a lot of carbs?  Carbs will make you tired.  Go for protein first.  Make sure to drink all your fluids too.  It really does make a big difference.

Some days it is really difficult to get in both the protein and water because I get so full.  I am pretty faithful about taking the supplements, (but do forget once in a great while).  Maybe if I try to get a protein shake in during the day that would help.  I just have not found one that I am crazy about.  Thanks for the help.

Take your protein drinks add enhance them. Put them in the freezer for half an hour before drinking. If it is vanilla, add some fruit to it and put it in the blender. Try them warm - you can heat whey protein to 130 degrees before it changes consistency. I heat skim milk in the microware to about 120, then slowly add it to the proein powder.

I have had lots of problems with water. My surgeon said tha****er is not very "slippery". I add 4C toally 2 go packages to water. My favorite flavor is wild berry pomegranate. Crystal light also has a lot of flavor packages.

good luck,

Jayne

Thanks Jayne,

I will definately try your ideas, I never thought to heat the whey protein, I will try that this weekend.  I saw that you went on a little shopping spree, sounds like you are doing great.  I am new to this site, but I really like it.  Hope we can become friends, you seem like you are really  committed.  Thanks again for the help

My pouch prefers warm liquids to cold ones.
