Intro

Hi,

I have been posting on the Lap Band board and was always wondering where I could find people in my area and lo and behold, figured it out (1 week later)...

My name is Marlene and I live north of Worcester in Lunenburg. I have been married for 5 years and have 2 little girls aged 3.5 and almost 5. I am scheduled for LapBand surgery on 9/22 at Caritas St Elizabeths in Brighton and I am so excited!  I have lost about 37 lbs on my preop diet and am looking forward to getting down to the 150's...

I will be looking to off load a TON of clothes very soon. I have a platinum card at Lane Bryant and have a little clothes addiction. :) Mostly 28's and 26's. Many are pretty big but waiting til they look borderline ridiculous before I purge and go to the next size since I will have to do this a lot before I get down to my goal so stay tuned!!

Hi and Welcome!
I hope your surgery goes well and as planned!   I don't need any clothes..but it is real sweet of you to offer them up.      My children were 4 and 7 when I had my first surgery...and it certainly is nice to NOT be the largest mom at the school.  I am sure that will also be one of your "wow" moments. 
I had the band and converted to a RNY...let me know if I can help you in anyway.  I am not a band basher...I did enjoy my band while I had it.

Thanks, Jayner. I have all 3x clothes at the moment so I am good. Someone will hit the jackpot though with all of mine once I am out of them...

Hi Marla,

My daughter has recently started to volunteer at Loaves and Fishes in Devens, and mentioned to me that they have many large women who come in, but they don't seem to have so many large sizes.  She is pretty sensitive to this given that I used to be a size 24 and she knows I used to have a hard time finding clothes. 

If you find no takers here maybe you would want to donate them to the food pantry?

this is excellent! I will certainly look them up. My surgery is nenext Monday and I am almost done with a lot of my 3x's. Once the surgery is done, I am thinking I will be ready to part ways with them...

Marla - Best Wishes on your surgery Monday!  You have done very well on your own and I'm sure once you are banded it will become a bit easier than on your own!
 

I remember the last day I went to Lane Bryant (they no longer carry my size)  and the confusion I felt at not being able to go to the only store I really knew to get clothes.  I have adjusted though, and love shopping ANYWHERE I want to!  You will too!
