Shrunk??
Isn't that strange? I hadn't even thought to check my hieght. The shoe size has altered pretty significantly. I didn't realize how heavy my feet had gotten.
Starting weight : 273 lbs - BMI 42.8
Day of Surgery : 265 lbs - BMI 41.5
April 20, 2008: 175 pounds - BMI 27.4
November 11, 2008: 158 pounds 24.7
Did they measure your height at your pre-op meeting? I discovered I'd "shrunk" before WLS: after 30 years of thinking that I was 5'5", I turned out to be 5'3". When you're this short, 2 inches is a lot!
I double-checked their measurements shortly thereafter (yuk, yuk), and 5'3" was correct (or even a little generous). I hoped (and still hope) that all the excess weight I carried for so many years might have compressed my spine, and that I'd eventually be 5'5" again! (I don't know whether there's a grain or a loaf of truth to this!) There's nothing better for your BMI than gaining a few inches in height!

I don't remember if they measured my height or not. I don't think so, but I'm not 100% certain. I've been 5'5" for years though. Now I'm 5' 4-1/2". I'd like to be taller, but I'm too old to grow in that direction now. Plus it's not in my genetics to be tall....my whole family is short. But I have an extremely tall husband (6'4"), so there is hope for my children! lol
