Who's Going to Toby Hospital for RNY ?

Hi all , I was wondering who on here is going to Tobey Hospital in Wareham,Ma. for their RNY? I'm starting my journey and I meet with the surgeon on April 7th for the 2nd time...I've already met with the Nutritionist and that was sad...it's hard to say good bye to the fat girl foods...yea but it will be so worth it... I'm having Doctor Streeter and Dr.Kuger...I have heard wonderful things...well any info will be helpful...and are there support groups at the hospital ??? A bunch of us are starting our own group in Assonet,Ma. with cityofoz....so come and join us it's low key and lots of fun.. Hugs Despinasdream

I'm having my surgery at Tobey on 4/22!  There are support groups at Tobey on Monday nights.  Once you complete your group meetings they will give you the schedule for the support groups.  Please let me know when the Assonet meetings are.  I'd like to try to come.

We would love you to join us...we are just trying to figure out what a good time is good ? what's good for you?

I didn't have my surgery at Tobey but I do live in Wareham. I would love to join a local support group....if you all would have me. I know Tobey does not allow non patients to come to their group. Is this citofoz a private group? Where do you meet?  Can I come?  Pretty please!  lol  I had my surgery in Boston at Beth Israel....almost 5 months ago. I have gone to the support groups there but it is just such a hike to get there. My dad had this surgery done by Dr Kruger 4 years ago but I don't think he goes to the groups. Dr Kruger did take my gallbladder out about 10 years ago...

Awesome....who is Lori and how do I ask her? I am feeling pretty good. I have hit a bit of a stall and those are always discouraging...but I keep chugging along. I lost a ton right off the bat and it has been a slow stair stepping loss since month 2.  Physically I feel amazing....still have a long way to go though.

Lori goes by "cityofoz" look her page up shes so nice...she lives in Assonet, Ma.

Hey I think I'm going to try to get us the Lakeville Libaray so it's more roomy and they have big rooms for that purpose...Des

 

Hi Pam, I live in Dartmouth and had my surgery at Brigham & Womens in Boston. (4/1/08)  I'm also planning on meeting with the group Lori is getting together.  I have been attending the support groups in Boston, but it certainly is a hike!  Hope to meet you soon.
