Hi Everyone, Sorry I have not written but have been spending the last week on myself.  I had my surgery on the 13th and it was a great experience.  The people at the hospital were tremendous.  The pre surgery team made me feel welcome and at ease.  When they gave me the shot in the O.R. to get me to sleep it burned but that was all I really felt.  When I awoke They moved me to ICU to monitor my breathing and again everyone was great.  They watched over me and decided I could go up to the six floor, so off I went.  When I got there I was introduced to my first nursing team and they were wonderful.  My first night was ok and I think my second day was the worse but not to bad.  I just let go and started using the morphine to stay ahead of any pain and was fine.  My first meals were well recieved and they gave me ice chips to pour it over which was great.  I adjusted throught the stages of the diet well and by the time I was ready to leave had a cream soup.  I cannot say enough about the great staff at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital Center.  Doctors, Nurses every one was top notch.  As for any concerns I may have had about my doctor being new, all I can say is that he came through with Flying colors and I would loudly reccomend him.  It has been a week and I am enjoying my new diet.  I have had a balanced and diverse selection and with Thanksgiving being around the corner I have no problem with not only enjoying the day with my family but also enjoying preparing a greta feast for all.  I have so much to be thankfull for this year.  To all of you out there have a safe, happy, and healty Thanksgiving Day!
