Consignment Stores?

I am down over 40 pounds since surgery (55 since May) and I'm really in need of clothes.  I'm fitting in a 20 now (from a 26!) but I'm having a hard time finding clothes that are nice but inexpensive.  I'd like to check out some consignment stores but I don't know where to start.  Has anyone had any luck with consignment stores?  Any MA stores that you could recommend? Thanks! Ann

Hi Ann, Wasn't there one in Holbrook??  I know the Trinity Church on Main St. in Randolph had one. I'd call to make sure it's still there. The AmVets in Brockton on the way to Westgate (across from the golf course) has tons of stuff, really cheap! AND, you get a receipt for your taxes too when you drop stuff off.  I'm in the Quincy group with Dr. Hess and a few ppl get together and bring in things for a swap every so often. If you're in a group, maybe there are a few who can join in?  Marie P.s. - Congratulations on your weight loss!

I'm not sure if this is close to where you live or not but there is a new Salvation Army Thrift Store in Norwood. They have a lot of stuff with tags still on it.  I found out that they mark a lot of stuff half price on Monday so that is a good day of the week to go.  ETA... also check out E-bay...I have found stuff on there as well. Some of it is new with tags and some in 'like new' condition. PS...enjoy...doesn't it feel good when the sizes go down?

Thanks for the suggestions!  I found a brand new Tahari suit on Ebay for $45!  I've been to the Norwood Salvation Army store twice.  First time I found a long TSE cashmere cardigan sweater for $20!  Saturday I went again and got a great Talbot's sweater, a belted cardigan and a white blouse; my total was $18!  I've checked out a few consignment stores but I haven't found one I love.  There's one in Pembroke that I'll check out again.  Yesterday I hit Kohl's sale and got a few inexpensive shirts and a Columbia fleece jacket (just in case it ever gets cold!). Thanks again for all  your suggestions!   GO SOX!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ann
