FYI: For those of you who have teens getting a license ....
MA just passed a law as of September 1, 2007 saying that if you are a parent or guardian of a teen driver that you will have to attend a two-hour driver education program in order for them to get a license.
Just thought i'd give the heads up .. my son is going for his permit Wednesday.
I found this out when I got my registration renewal.
My oldest is only 8 so I dont have to worry about this!!!
BUT as far as I am concerned i think it is crazy!! I do not think parents sitting in a 2 hr class wil make kids drive more safely!!!!!! I personally think that is has alot to do on how they are raised and what values you instill in them!!! My parents were always telling us about no drinking and driving, no road rage, you know.....Im young, ive had my licence for 11 years but to this day no tickets, no accidents nothing! I am can tell ya that is because I had an active support team at home!!! My parents were all over the driving thing! (as for getting pregnant at 17 they were lost HAHA)
Really though, I know there are lots of new driver accidents, I work in the ER I see a tons of them,,,,,,,but a class for parents will not change that, just as curfews, and other restrictions havent in the past!

MY gosh! I agree 100% its called GOOD parenting! My kids are all young but I do have neices and nephews that are getting there licenses and you know they were raised the same way my parents raised me and my siblings so you can only pray the follow the same foot steps. some parents feel once kids get there license they are indepent and they are sooo wrong...parenting just begins when they are teens...haha
Good luck with your son :)
