Multi-vitamins

Hello, me again! I am currently taking 2 women's formula MV's a day.  Again, large horsepills.   What did you take as chewables when you first had the operation and at what point can you take the horsepills again?   I'm trying to decide what to buy and how much of a stash I will need in chewables.   Thanks, Julie

I did 2 Flinstones chewables a day for the first month or two after surgery.  Now I take One a Day but have also taken Chewable Centrum and am going back to them.... it seems easier to remember to take them when there's a taste to them!

Thanks Kat!  I don't look forward to swalowing the large pills with sucha small pouch.  I might also continue with the chewables...

Hi!   Right now I'm taking 2 children's chewables until I'm told I can take something else. So far, so good! I'ts the Shaw's brand, htey're cheap and don't taste bad at all! These were $3.99 for 150 vitamins.  Marie

I did the Centrum chewables for the first month and then went to a pill form vitamin.  If you like the chewables you can stay with them longer.  I dislike really sweet stuff since surgery so I have prefered the pills over the chewables.  I also switched to a pill for calcium instead of Viactiv chews which I really liked before surgery but do not anymore. A pill that goes down pretty easy for a multi vit is the Viactiv easy glides.

I would say get enough chewables for the first month and see what you prefer when you are a month post-op.

Thanks Cher, I am going to try the easy glides.  Brooks in Pepperell seems to have a lot of those choices.

I am 18 months out and still take the CVS brand chewables.  They are orange flavored and not bad either.  My doctor told me that they were okay to take instead of a swallow pill.
