I am currently in the weight loss program at Lawrence Memorial hospital with Dr. Randall.  I have my 2nd appt with him and the nut on Sept. 5th.... now i wieghed myself on my home scale it it says i gained 1 lb since my last apt.. so i have 2 weeks and i have been sticking faithfuly with my new eating routine (not as muhc a diet but what its gonna be like eating after the lapband) and its been low calorie and everything i guess i just expected to lose a couple pounds. The nut did tell me its NOT about losing weight but it i did that would be great, i just dont want to GAIN weight and look like im doing something wrong-- i guess im kinda down on myself.   My question is-- can i lose weight in the next 2 weeks before my apt? or should i try? My other question is i have an appt with the psych Dr. crump for my eval sept 10th--- have any of you met her and what can i expect after my appointments? thank everyone sooo much who answers!!!

Know that Dr. Randall is not going to beat you up over a 1 lb. weight gain but he does not like to see us gaining prior to having surgery.  He'll address the issue with you and be very honest and open with him regarding this.  I gained a few pounds and he was very direct about it with me.  Are you seeing Erika?  As for losing the weight in 2 weeks, that's up to you and how your body loses weight.  No one can answer that for you.   I've met Dr. Crump twice.  She knows exactly what is needed for the insurance company and will evaluate you from the WLS stand point.  Making sure your head is in the right place to have this surgery.  She's very easy to talk with. Will you be at the support group meeting on Thursday night?  I'd encourage you to go to every meeting.  I've missed 2 in 2 years and one because I had just had my WLS. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.
