Springfield People?

Hi Everyone. I live near Springfield MA and I'm looking at an estimated date around the end of September.  Yay! I'm Currently on  what my Nut calls the phase 5 diet.. I am eating what I should be eating five weeks out of surgery.   Ok well I'm supposed to be eating like that but oh my god its hard! Like its fine ALL DAY.. but once 8 pm hits.. its all over.  And I'm trying to stop drinking and eating at the same time but Ugh! So hard!   I'm not to hard on myself cause I'm only sort of.. practicing now, to be sure I can handle this and I can.. it just sucks.  But for the chance to go hiking again and  play sports with my kids again.. its alll worth it.   I would love to keep in contact with someone else from this area who is going though all this or has.

Hi, I am near springfield also!  I have my first appt. scheduled with the surgeon for September 6th.   What surgery are you going to be having?  I am planning to have the LapBand. Tammy

Hi Tammy! I grew up in Chicopee.. well I went to high school there anyway. Im having the bypass done, I tend to be a grazer so the lapband would be much help to me.  Where is your Dr out of?

I am going to be seeing Dr. Kasper and would be having surgery at Mercy, because I work there!

Hi Springfield and Chicopee people!!!   I am from Ludlow!  My surgery was on 11/23/05 with Dr.  Haag, Dr. Fiallo's partner.  He was fantastic!!  It's been quite the journey, I have lost 153# with the Lap-Band, you can see pics on my profile.  I'd love to chat and help thru with some questions anyone may have.   As for night-time eating......very bad!  That is my worst timeof day......I feel the need to munch or I'm being deprived...Iknow it is all head-hunger...cuz I"m really not hungry! Love to chat with locals!  Looking forward to hearing from you!

HI HI HI!!!!   Can I join in here? I am currently in Georgia, but will be moving to Springfield hopefully in November, if not sooner. Would like to get in contact with people there who can help me get started and get ready for this thing. I'm gonna have my doctor here send a letter to a doctor there so I can have my RNY as he suggested. Got any good suggestions on a bariatric and cosmetic doc and place to go for this? And what should I be doing now to get myself ready? :) Will be getting me one of these cute little tickers for my posts as soon as I get my current weight and all. :P G

Hello, I live outside of Northampton MAss, and run the support group i nSpringfield for Lap band patients. I do it for Pioneer Valley Surgical. Good luck with your surgery, let me know if I can help in any way. I had my surgery January 2005, lost 70lbs and have kept it off for 2 years. Harriet

Hi everyone! It's so nice to hear from others nearby me. Im having the bypass though PVSA but the support groups I go to are run by a woman from Baystate Surgical. Honeslty though, I love the groups.. I wish they were more like.. weekly.

Hello all! I currently live in Palmer, but grew up in Westfield.  Glad to see so many people from this part of the state!!! I am currenlty in my second appeal with Cigna.  Its been an extremely frustrating process and I've recently involved Gary and his law firm in my appeal. I am part of Mercy's Comprehensive Weight Managment Program (people and program are fantastic) and my surgeon is Dr Kasper (also an amazing person!).
