Baked Apple recipe or Fall recipe

Hi Everyone I was looking for a nice autumnal recipe for either a baked apple or a lower calorie low sugar fall treat. It doesnt have to be a dessert, it could be an appetizer or entree. I looked on some websites but many seemed either too high calorie or too high fat. and not good for weight loss surgery.

Any ideas or guidance is appreciated.

Thanks

Try either www.recipezaar.com or "eating well after weight loss surgery".  It's a great cookbook I ran across long before my surgery date! :) Recipezaar has categories to sift out low fat, cholesterol, etc., so you've a great chance of finding what you're looking for there! Marie

Hi there, This isn't a complicated recipe but may fit the bill.  Wash & Core an apple (or many apples) so that the center is removed (seeds etc) but the apple is still whole intact.  Use some pam in muffin tins or ramekins to grease.  Place the apple inside. In another dish use 1 Tbs of oatmeal, 1/2 packet of Splenda, 1 tsp raisins or dried cranberries, 1/4 tsp cinnamon, and 1 tsp of an all fruit based jelly.  Mix together and stuff mixture inside the apple. Bake on 325 until apple is soft and mixture is bubbly about 25 minutes. Amy

heres an apple crisp recipe from Dame Tooter (OH manager seen mostly on the main board).  I love making this during the fall and winter, tastes great and makes the house smell nice :)

Apple Crisp

4 cups apples, peeled, cored and sliced (Recommend: Granny Smith or Cortland) 1/3 cup Splenda 1 tablespoon Krusteaz Pancake Mix 1 teaspoon Cinnamon 1/4 cup + 1 T Splenda Brown Sugar 1 cup rolled Oats 1/4 cup Krusteaz Pancake Mix 1/3 cup butter, melted Mix together 1/3 cup Splenda, 1 tablespoon Krusteaz Pancake Mix, and cinnamon. Add apple slices and toss to coat. Spread out in buttered baking dish. Combine brown sugar, oats, remaining Krusteaz Pancake Mix, and butter. Crumble over apple mixture and bake at 350 degrees F. for 30 minutes. Variations: Use equal amount of Pears instead of apples; use 1/2 apples and 1/2 pears and 1/2 tsp. nutmeg; use 3 cups peeled, pitted and cubed peaches instead of apples.
