Hi, I am wondering if anyone has cigna health care?? And if so can you guide me...... Amanda

I do...they're VERY picky about the approval process. I just got denied because they found no medical necessity to approve the authorization. What I found was I need a letter from my shrink stating I'll continue therapy weekly post-op, and an auth for surgery letter from my PCP with the file. So....when you get ready for approval, after you've had your six consecutive monthly appts with a recorded weight taken...have your PCP include an OK for surgery letter WITH your file to Cigna. I'm seeing a shrink for food triggers and on my MMPI (the three hour psych exam) they said I need a letter from the shrink stating I'll continue therapy post-op. They're not horrible to work with, as my insulin pump and the supplies are free....I'm sure this will work out ok, its just a matter of time. (shame I have no patience) Marie
