helloooo.... been a long time... I am looking for a support group here on Cape Cod... I have been less than successful with my lap- band of 18 months and am considering a different procedure. BUT I have not had the support I was hoping for from my family - and "hiking" to Boston is not a weekly option. Specifically- I would like to find folks who are trying to stay on track nutritionally and physically (read exercise...)but are less than 45 minutes away.... maybe a buddy system or - i don't know. But - gotta put it out there. Anyone interested? Thanks Tara on Cape Cod

I believe there is one at Cape Cod Hospital, not sure of the specifics. I will see if I can locate the member that can give you more info.

Dear Tara, I live on Cape Cod and I had my surgery on Sept. 20th. I don't believe threre are any support groups on Cape Cod. I went to see Dr. Kruger in Wareham. The procedure was done at Tobey Hospital.. I think a former pt who is a nurse at CCH is trying to put together a group because there are soo many of us.,. I am gong to try and reach her next week sometime and if I find anything out I'll let you know. Tammy on Cape Cod too!

TAra, Keep looking. I met a Cape Cod Hospital nurse in the waiting room at Brigham and Womens. She told me there IS a group on the cape. She lives in Mashpee. I gave her my email address but haven't heard from her yet. If I do, I will post here. In the meantime, it's out there! So if you find it first, let me know too!! Thanks. Susan

Hi Tara, There is a support group on the Cape. They meet at CCH on the 3rd Thursday of the month at like 7PM I believe. I have emails from the woman who told me about the group. I will try to find them and give you her email so you can verify this info. I am still pre-op, having Lap RNY at NEMC on November 14! I Have not been able to attend any of the CCH meetings because of my job, but I finish work on Monday so maybe I'll be able to check out the next meeting! Where are you on the Cape?? I'd be very interested in getting a walking group together....that would definatley keep me motivated! Melinda
