Bobbi, It is different for everyone. I had mine even when I got home but it wasn't painful any more just like I was very full. If you keep walking and drinking your fluids you will be fine. Where are you having your surgery done? Worcester? Take care, April

I had terrible gas pains for a long time after my surgury and only recently found products that help. I used to double over in pain that lasted for hours at a time. I found Pepsid AC chewables and Immodium Gas to be helpful. I am 3 years post-op and no longer have the bad pains but still have gas problems unfortunately. Hope I am not discouraging you but this is definately a problem for certain people. Hope you can find relief.

Congrats Bobbi!!! I just had my surgery on Thursday 7/27. I am doing better with the bloating, but I had constipation. My wurgery was done at Brigham and Womens Hospital. If you have any questions while in the hospital ask. Thats what I did. Good luck. Carrie

My surgeons office sent me home with a prescription for simethocone drops... which is literally, baby mylicon gas drops. I take 2 droppers full around each meal time and have not had any problems with gas at all. I thought it was pretty clever. I hope everything went well with your surgery Bobbi. Keep us updated! Hugs, Mary
