Lupus meds and RNY
Had RnY almost 2 years ago. I have SLE. Was off prednisone a couple years before surgery. I'm certain it contributed to my weight gain.
Anyway, I'm on Plaquenil and Methotrexate. I had some snyvisc shots in the knee and took Vicodin for pain. I'm now just dealing w/ the pain (not very well some days).
The weight off the joints has helped so much. No CPAP machine.
Fewer flares BUT...... surgery will NOT cure Lupus. My place of employment seems to think I should be all cured and never sick now. It's still so very frustrating to have SLE and flares. Still have to pace myself for energy. Good days and bad days. Don't overdo it. Give yourself extra time to heal from surgery as well. Took me a long time.
