I said that because I've encountered so many posters who have no avatar and no other info. I have been a registered user of this site since 2002. And I wonder if you folks wouldn't pile on and refute an "I love my band" post.
I don't consider myself lucky that I didn't have mine out. I have lost nearly all of my excess weight and have kept if off for eight years and I have just as much right to share my positive experience.

Didn't say that guys. Plenty of people report problems with their band on these forums such as I had a slip...I throw up all...So it's not for everyone.
But how "consistent" is it to say "I'm not bashing BUT don't get this stupid thing it's not fit for a human being! Run the other way"
Nor has it been pulled from the market or require eventual removal due to scar tissue
There's a difference.

I'm truly sorry to hear this. I just don't like it when ppl tell the world don't have it since I had a bad experience.
In all the time I've had mine I've hardly ever thrown up. Not sayin it's been trouble free but I think I avoided common pitfalls.

Just cuz you put a "not bashing" discalimer at the beginning doesn't mean you ain't bashing guys.

It has all the usual folks who claim to have had it and don't post with whom and/or when. I like to see long term bandsters refute these or at least present their side, mostly because this is the forum that helps ppl make up their mind, not because I want to start a fight.

What is the difference between distended and dialated? My last UGI was completely normal and things seem to have gone back into place.
I was thinking of having surgery to get a better look at things and proceding with the AP revision.

Dr. C
I have been considering a revision to an AP band--I wonder if there is any benefit to switching out as far as the AP model putting less pressure on my stomach. I have just recovered from having a distended esophogus and I'm leery of filling back up again.
Is the AP model the same as the old Swedish one's that had more problems with slippage?

Hi Dr. C
Just wanted to thank you once again for all your help. I have since followed up with my Dr. and asked for a referral for another upper GI/Endo. If they are clear he wants to start filling me again. I feel a lot better in general but had an episode of reflux last wk. My Dr. said the EGD would have pinpointed any dialation/slippage. I was wondering if there were any ulcers? Sicne I haven't gained wt, should I just stay unfilled in the meantime? Also, would there be any benefit to switching out to an AP?

I AM NOT OVERREACTING. THE BILL SAYS >90 DAYS AND WILL BE GOING TO COLLECTIONS SOON. The staute of limiations I believe is SEVEN years. Then there is the issue of "zombie debts' were people are being blindsided by debt that is even older than that.
In addition, I still have to use him for follow up since, as you all are well aware, we cannot change surgeons. Hell, they may not even see me while this account is due.
Yes, it COULD be a mistake since this is the same ins coordinator who wrote RNY on my hospital orders
and I do not see the dr. follow anyone else.

Topic: RE: PLEASE HELP
I JUST CAN'T STOP BALLING. I JUST GOT A BILL FROM MY SURGEON FOR $500 GOING BACK TWO YRS AGO THEY HAVE BEEN BILLING AN INS. CO THAT I HAVE NOT HAD FOR THREE YRS. I DID NOT HAVE THIS INS EVEN 3YRS AGO WHILE THEY WERE BILLING THAT CO. I GUESS THEY FINALLY GAVE UP TRYING TO COLLECT. THIS IS NOT A MISTAKE OF THEIRS--THE INS REP AT THEIR OFFICE TOLD ME THAT SINCE I NO LONGER HAD INS THEY WOULD DO MY FILLS FOR $100. I PAID IN CASH AND KEPT THE RECEIPTS. THEY HAVE BEEN TRYING TO BILL THIS INS CO FOR FILLS THAT I HAVE BEEN PAYING FOR IN CASH. I AM SO ANGRY. THEY CHARGE 3X MORE FOR FILLS THAN ANYONE ELSE. AS MUCH FOR A FILL IN THE OFFICE AS IT COSTS UNDER FLOURO FOR MOST PPL!! AND I GUESS FIGURED THEY WOULD MAKE UP FOR THEIR "LOSS" WITH MY INS AND BILL ME IF IT FAILED. I HAVE NEVER ENCOUNTERED ANYTHING SO CRUEL AND CORRUPT--AT THIS POINT I MUST ASSUME MY SURGEON IS AWARE AND COMPLICIT IN ALL OF THIS EVEN THOUGH I'M STILL HOPING AGAINST HOPE THAT THIS IS AN ERROR. I HAVE NEVER FELT SO BETRAYED IN ALL MY LIFE. MY SURGEON HAS NEVER BEEN VERY NICE TO ME LIKE WITH HIS OTHER PATIENTS. THE TIMES I WENT TO HIM FOR ADJUSTMENTS HE WOULD FOLLOW ME TO THE CASHIER AND HOVER WHILE I PAID LIKE I WAS SOME DEADBEAT. I HAVE JUST DESPARATELY SEARCHED EVERY BIT OF PAPER FROM THEM AND OF COURSE CANT FIND THE RECEIPTS I SO CAREFULLY SAVED. SOMEBODY WITH SOME INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE PLEASE HELP--ISN'T THIS DOUBLE BILLING OR FRAUD? I CAN' T BELIEVE THEY WOULD DO THIS. FOR THE LAST THREE YRS I'VE TRIED SO HARD TO IMPROVE MY FINANCIAL SITUATION AND STUFF LIKE THIS KEEPS HAPPENING. GOD, WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE THIS **** STORM? DOES THE WHOLE WORLD HATE ME??????THANK YOU DR., FOR MAKING ME FEEL ABSOLUTELY W R E T C H E D

Yeah...I know a guy banded about a yr before me who's gained quite a bit back. Course, I never saw him very much so I really can't say how many pounds it was.
Saw him a few months ago after a couple of yrs and he complimented me that I was able to keep the wt off.

Topic: RE: Gastritis and Lap Band...HELP
I was diagnosed with gastritis 2 yrs ago--the difference is I've had my band 4 yrs and the problem started when my fill level increased to its highest. She should NOT have gastritis immediately post op. She should be seen by a bariatric dr who will do an endo and upper GI to look for placement problems, infection or other problems.
It will be an uphill battle finding a surgeon who will see her in this country.

I think the Oceanic Six are the ones that chose to go with Jack's group and return with Naomi's crew. This has yet to happen, so maybe the the flashforwards are a warning of what may come to pass.
It's interesting no one would say what the monster is and that one of the "rescue" crew was a psychic. I think the monster could be at the center of the islands secrets and maybe Jacob knows about it.
