They should pay for complications as well.
Would be awesome if they went back and paid medical bills for removals

Hopefully next Realize will stop selling theirs.
I'm facing a choice after 8 years with band need to revise to rny or sleeve. Have you had problems with your rny? Thanks
Not at all, there is just A LOT of Lap Band bashing on the internet, and specifically on many of the threads on this forum. People bash the Band and people who have the Band. Quite frankly, it makes me disappointed to see so much Band bashing. There are many different WLS's. Not all work for everyone, but I believe just because the Doctor talks you out of a certain one (or bashes it himself--many doctors do and are talking people out of the Lap Band or Gastric Bypass and into the Sleeve--nothing against any of the WLS's though), or just because a specific WLS doesn't work for you, does not mean that that WLS as a whole doesn't work. I'm s strong WLS ambassador and Lap Band ambassador. :)
Thanks for that. I had actually inquired about taking all the fluid out - and it took so long for them to get back to me (I went through slimband) that I had already gone on vacation and had changed my mind.
Funny enough - last week - all of a sudden - I could not get anything down at all - water was a struggle - I waited a couple of days thinking it would pass -went to a walk in - with no success (couldn't hit the port) - so decided to wait until after the weekend to just go into Slimband.
I had 2 CCs taken out on Tuesday - and I think that is where I will stay until I find out if I am approved for surgery etc...
It is nice not having to drink something hot before every meal - but I agree with you - I will be very careful of what I eat - I don't want to gain 50 plus pounds because of it.
The nurse told me it is very common - although not something they readily tell people for some reason - for your band to all of a sudden tighten up - literally overnight - the longer you have it in - I had gone almost a year and a half comfortably - then it tightened right up.
Like Nic I too suffer from permanent damage from that piece o'crap band! I have severe heartburn and so far no drug even touches it. I have gastroparesis or slow stomach emptying which is painful and means very careful eating. I was a healthy fat person and now I'm a sickly skinny person, nope it wasn't even worth the trade off. Wish I had never heard the words lap band! So glad you are getting yours removed, it can only make your life better
You can always doctor up your drinks with sugar free syrups from Torani, Davinci or other brands of sf flavorings.
Mine was empty for 2 yrs before I was able to get it removed and I maintained my weight during that time. The most important thing is to not go crazy eating things that you couldn't eat before. I filled up on salads and stayed away from the carby sweets stuff!
