Having my band removed in Arlington, Tx..no revision, my health insurance will not cover so cash price is 4500.00

If there is nothing wrong with the band, except you hate the ******g thing, then insurance won't pay to have it removed.

Because the surgeon may not be able to put the staple line where he would normally put it due to damage from band . It could cause a staple line leak which is very dangerous . It's possible the new stomach would be a tad larger than virgin sleevers

Thank you both. I needed all of this information. Just got back from the hospital band needs to come out. I'm thinking I will do the sleeve that seems to be the best option. Thanks again :-)

Sounds like you are on the right road. You are lucky to have such a great surgeon on your side. I wish you great success. Those bands as we now know are just plain evil. Keep us updated.
