How much of the protein is Whey?
Not sure If the Nausea is "Normal" but I did have it for approx. 6 mos post band removal, other problems that also felt a lot like Gall Bladder issues but, it did eventually go away. I guess it was from not being able to eat certain foods, and now I it was possible?
If it's persistent( long-term) mention it to your Dr, even your GP can put you on anti-nausea meds( temporarily)
Not sure about the Weight gain? Again my guess is that your body's metabolism is challenged ( famine mode) with the band and when it's removes your body doesn't recognize it as a good thing and so it tends to Hold on to whatever you give it awaiting the next famine.
Until of course your metabolism resets, but often it's too last and you've regained. Some that I know that have had the band removed have managed to retain some weight loss but it's not with EFFORT, exercise dieting, pills, etc..

Thank you, I have not made my mind up for sure if I will go with LapBand or another option yet. Still researching and looks like I have lots of time to do so while I save up. I personally know 3 people who love the out come of their LB surgery, but know anything can happen and results will vary. So, I will continue to research, but I know for sure True Results is WAY off the list for me, just too many bad reviews.
Unfortunately the only thing you can do is to make sure you eat the right things all the time. And keep proper diet long term.
And measure and journal everything you eat. A bite here and there adds up. No drinking with meals. Plan your meals and snacks.
Having good restriction is great, but if you are too tight - that may prevent you from eating dense proteins, and slider foods are often the worst for weight loss.
Even with RNY and a small pouch - I have to careful not only how much I eat - but rather what I eat. If I eat the wrong things - like carbs, slider foods etc - I start gaining weight.
When I regained some weight - going back on track was not easy...but after I got determined and followed proper post op WLS diet - I was able to stop the gain, lose the regain and go back to goal.

I don't know of any reputable places that do in house most of them just refer you to the places you have already tried. I do know that there are places like True Results that may try to lure you in by hinting they will finance you but they are a scam outfit and have many reports of horrible treatment once they get you hooked in. Google True Results scams.
I hope you aren't looking to get a lapband because they cause a great deal of damage even when the rules are followed. Very few surgeons will even do them any more because they are not very effective. Few lose any significant amount of weight and the majority of people end up having either a revision or just removing the band and going back to dieting. I found a hi protein/low carb eating plan to be the best way to lose. which you will have to follow anyway with surgery.
Myself I ended up finally having mine removed after 7 yrs because I had only lost 20 lbs and had horrible reflux burning my stomach and esophagus 24/7. I had to pay for the removal too because my insurance changed and no longer covered bariatric surgery. It is now 2+ yrs since removal and my guts still hurt daily from acid and slow emptying stomach which was caused by the band and will always stay that way. It causes horrible gas pains and cramping that I will have to deal with the rest of my life!
I only know of a handful of people who have had any success at all with a band most have very little weight loss no matter how hard they worked at it. I know many hundreds of people who have permanent damage from the band eroding into their stomachs and from esophageal damage. I would urge you to look at the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy which removes around 70% of the stomach. It is the same surgery used for stomach cancer and they found it also helped weight loss so started using it for that. It is a far better surgery and has much greater success in weight loss.
With all that said tho you will still need to find a way to finance a surgery so saving up maybe the only way to do that. Read the forums here and they can give you lots of information. Good luck to you!
I had lap band surgery in August of 2010 and over the course of about 3 years I lost 100 pounds. I felt great, and my feet and knees quit hurting. I was 250 pounds when I had surgery, and am 5'1". Over the last couple of years I have gained 40 pounds, and I can't figure out why. Most of the time I don't get hungry, and haven't since shortly after my surgery. I eat because I know I have to. I don't eat hardly anything, but I'm still gaining weight. Admittedly, I don't always eat the right things, which is probably why I'm gaining weight. I seriously don't eat much though. I've been thinking about going to get another fill, but I already don't have an appetite and have a hard time eating, so that's really not an option. I don't understand what is happening. My knee and feet hurt again too, which isn't helping matters any. I know I get enough protein because I give plasma 2 times a week and they check it every time. What is going on? What can I do?
