Good for you for keeping the weight off!! I was banded in 2007, started having problems in 2009, and had it removed in 2012. I has symptoms of a slip and did the unfill--fill thing too many times to remember. I gained all the weight back and revised to Rny last September.
If you are not getting stuck, or vomiting, just having heartburn, I would try a complete unfill. Just remember, if you have relied on restriction to curb over eating, YOU will need to be careful.
Good luck!!!

Exactly same symptoms as u! But removal was on 26.5.17 so 9 days ago. I really thought it would be an easy recovery period with minimal pain. Mate keeps saying, "Surely u shud b feelin better by now!" Grrrrrrr! That comment just makes me more impatient! I also feel guilty about the pain as I feel it is self inflicted thru having had the band fitted in the first place, (especially as in the end it didn't work for me - how flipping embarrassing!) That said, I'm glad it's out and am planning on working on a a healthier way of living. It will probably be a lengthy process of changing the habits n beliefs I've carried for many, many years - practically all of my life up until now. I suppose I could say that the lapband has brought me to this point n in that way it has helped. Just wish this pain where the port was would go - always had pain at port site when it was inside me but honestly never thought I would have pain there after removal!! And the numbness in the left leg - it's so bizarre! I had anti sickness jab there so maybe it's from that. Hope ur feeling better now and I hope I will be too very soon! ?

My lapband slipped. Had to have it removed. I am taking Victoza and have lost 25 pounds in 10 weeks. It really works.
I had mine out 4/10/17 with mild discomfort for a couple days. It was nothing. After 9 days I began my walking routine again (4+ miles a day)
im having the sleeve late June or July 3rd. No weight gain at all. I've lost 24 lbs since mid march!
Im so excited! Hope you feel better.
I have not had the balloons. I am 7 years post band. I have had problems with stuck and vomiting the entire time. I have been completely unfilled for over 2 years and continue to have the problems. I saw my surgeon on Friday and he recommended that I revise to the sleeve and I am in the process of getting that approval. I have gained the majority of my weight back due to resorting to sliders because that is all I can keep down.
Lap band 5/2010 lost 37 lbs regain 22.
5/19/17 Surgery consult 201.6 lbs
6/15/17 approved by insurance(started liquid diet) 194.7lbs
6/28/17 Surgery weight 184.4
Has anyone had a lap-band slippage that fixed itself by taking the fluid out of the band for a while? Or has anyone had a revision after lap-band slippage?
I had my lap-band surgery 8 years ago. I have lost 100 pounds and through a lot of effort (diet and exercise) I have managed to keep it off. I had experienced heart burn before having surgery but it did get worst after the surgery. About a month ago I started having what felt like severe heart burn so I went to a gastroenterologist to have an upper endoscopy done. I knew it was like no heartburn I had ever felt before but it still seemed like heartburn. Having heartburn for so many years I was afraid of permanent damage. I kinda thought it may be a bad slippage but I never had it so I didn't want to jump to conclusions. Long story short the doctor said my band had slipped. I went to my surgeon and he immediately said I need my band removed. When I looked up this problem on the internet it said that doctors would recommend taking all the fluid out of the band and waiting for a week or two to see if the band goes back in place. My doctor seemed to think that would be prolonging the inevitable.

I agree 3ML is a lot at times I would only get .5ml and it made all the difference. Good luck to you!

Hi!
When I need to get back on the wagon I go back and do research, try to remember what you did like and make a plan! Plan all your food for the whole week on Sunday (that is when I have time), and make sure to plan some activities for the time of the day you know you will be looking for a snack for no good reason!
Once the research and plan is done take it day by day. If I get overly consumed with having to deal with my eating plan all week I go crazy! So I just try to stick to the present even meal by meal....
Good luck!
