Excellent! WW doesn't work for me, I hated the meetings! Mind you that was pre-surgery! But I know that for a lot of people they are fantastic! We all need to find what works for us.
Highest 290, Banded - 248 Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.
Happily banded since May 2006. Regain of 28lbs 2013-14. ALL GONE!
But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,
I am loving the meetings. Very motivational. I have been going to 2 meetings a week. Lost 2.8 pounds the first week. The best I've done in a very long time. Also started back at the gym.

Hi There,
I'm new to this site and find it so informative. This band life is a crazy ride! Seems like many of us have similar problems regardless of the band we had put in. Mine is a BIORING by Cousins. I've been banded for almost 7 years and recently had a sudden reduction in restriction. I went to see my doctor and he felt around my port. We were able to feel a definite distance between my port and the connector, (about 1 cm). It feels like there is a little tube still connected to the actual port and when the doctor did add 1cc of saline, I definitely felt, (this was done yesterday), more restriction, actually PERFECT restriction. He did not suggest doing a fluro or anything other than surgery. He says it has to be done under general sedation, will only take about 15 minutes and will cost about $1000. I will need about a week off of work and I am self pay, (had to pay $150 for the fill too). Not too thrilled about this and am concerned that it could get disconnected again. So, after the appointment, and thinking about it for a while, I have so many questions and no one to ask since my doctor is only in his office on Mondays. Hopefully you guys can chime in and provide some suggestions or answers. First question, is there a small tube within the tube that goes through the connector into the port? How can I still have such great restriction and have this disconnection? What happens if he gets in there and is unable to reconnect the connector to the port, (if that is in fact the case)? Do I have to be defilled for a while or can my fill level stay as is or get topped up during the surgery? Can this be done under local sedation? I'm trying to get a second opinion but no one seems to want to touch the BIORING band for some reason. I love my band and can't imagine not having it. It's like my little buddy who keeps me in check. I have lost 80 pounds, and am at a weight that I am very comfortable with. I am terrified that I will gain back the weight. Any insights you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Hi Phyllis! Welcome back, glad you are getting your issues resolved. Keep is posted on how you are doing.

Are you seeing a therapist? It sounds like you've got a lot of mental stuff going on and working through that with a professional is probably the best place to start.

So my first step would be would be to get back to your doc. I STILL go once a year no matter my situation or weight...but it keeps me on track and I have someone to answer to. I have NO IDEA why you are still having 'push back' or 'bounce back' when eating. It happens to me...but I know EXACTLY what causes it...STRESS is the biggest culprit. Also not chewing properly and the obvious...eating too much. The band will never teach us how to eat or what to eat...we have to do that...YOU NEED A FILL! Even if it is just 1-2 cc's, but at least it is a start..THEN you need to start from the beginning...go back to drinking protein shakes for 48 hours..then to yogurts, jello etc...then onto soft mushies. I know it has been 6 years...but I am sure you remember what we had to do when the band was first placed. I don't know about you...but I worked SO HARD to get this band...I spent HOURS on the phone with the insurance company, SO MANY doc appts, I had to go on a 6 month diet before my insurance co would even consider it, a phyc consult, meeting with nutritionists and of course meeting with personal trainers. I did a GREAT DEAL of research as well....will all that said...I am not going to let that time go to waste and neither should you. So...MAKE THAT APPOINTMENT...see your bariatric doc and lets start all over.
