YES! In all seriousness, I know someone in my band to sleeve support group on FB who got the sleeve and the dr. told her it would fix her issues and now that it hasn't he says her only option is to get RNY. EVEN though he told her the first time she was not a good candidate for RNY and the sleeve would take care of everything.
Just like any other business/salesmen really. And it's sad.
I had a hiatal hernia repaired along with my band 5 years ago too. I just learned 2 weeks ago that my hernia repair is "rock solid" according to my revision surgeon who took a look at it. So I'd be a bit surprised if yours was coming undone due to the coincidental timing. I'd be more suspicious that emptying your band changed the internal environment in your stomach and for whatever reason, acid that wasn't making it up before (maybe it wasn't strong enough to make it past the tight band?) is surfacing now.
Please pursue this with your PCP or band doctor because the reflux is a symptom of something and needs to be treated or controlled. Best case, it's just normal but worst case it could be a band complication.
Hell yeah! And ditto! I am so happy for anyone that found success with it. I also understand the "hater" side a bit because I've been there with only mild complications compared to a lot of people.
But I wish this board were more active. On the other hand, maybe it means less bands are being done and that's a good thing.
Some Docs refuse to listen.....I hate to tell them, but numbers do not lie!!!!! AND, patients know their bodies!
Yay....I cant wait to revise.....I take it you are very pleased!!!!!! yippee.
I have been looking over the Band board for a few days, and one thing I have noticed is that there is very little traffic these days. I want to congratulate each and every single person who are experiencing success. That is awesome. For those not so lucky, please take it easy on yourself. I had such high hopes, and tried so hard. Unfortunately my band was very fickle, and stayed too tight most of the time. I never found the sweet spot, no matter how hard I tried. I guess I am saying....if youre successful, keep on keeping on....if you struggle, please don't blame yourself....you are so worthy of love. Hang in there, and know you are not alone.
Hugs,
CJ
Awesome awesome story! so glad things have worked out so well for you with a band. I wish you ever lasting success.

🙌
I worked in GI for a few years you might see a gastroenterologist and have them do an EGD it could give you some answers to the reflux. Hope all goes well.
Lapband - Jan 2009 weight goal reached with lapband. Revised to VSG- 1/25/16
Thanks, still weighing my options. I feel sure it will not be the band. I have yet to see the doctor. I had lab work, EKG and pulmonary studies done. Recommend I see cardiologist for problem one kg. I have put a stop to everything until I see my family doctor on the 24th of April. Will do more research until then.
