One of the issues may be, if the tablets are large, that they may be dissolving above the band which is less acidic than the main stomach, this can cause tissue damage. Also, eating and or drinking in the night might trigger reflux which again could irritate the tissue.
as Hislady says, your usual doctor can check for damage.

Well you don't really need a lap band doctor, any GI (gastrointestinal) doc can check it for you. You may have to empty your band so they can do an endoscopy where they look down your throat into your stomach. Then they usually prescribe antibiotics since most ulcers are caused by the helio pylori bactor bacteria and they may have you take something else to coat your stomach. You might want to start eating a couple of crackers with your meds so you don't take them on an empty stomach, unless they are supposed to be taken on an empty stomach, it should say on your paperwork. Anyway like I said find a gastro doc and they should be able to take care of the situation if you be sure to tell him you have a band. Good luck!
I had a brain tumor removed a few weeks ago. Needless to say I have been taking a lot of meds. I am concerned that taking meds in the middle of the night has caused an ulcer in my esophagus. As I feel burning in that area. I don't live anywhere close to a lap ban dr.

Good Friday Everyone,
Hope your excited that the weekend is almost here. Nothing much going on in my world this weekend or at least to my knowledge. Please pray for my new granddaughter if you would. I believe when you pray there is power in numbers. My 1 month old granddaughter had laser surgery on her mouth ( lip ties and tongue ties ). My son and DIL thought that would solve her not being able to nurse issues....it did for a day now she can't nurse at all. We need prayers for her mouth and this issue that she is having. I know that is a very easy problem for our God to solve. Please keep them in your prayers. We should be grateful everyday for all the blessings that God is sending our way. Even in our trials we should be grateful everyday. I tend to let things get to me....I hold things in till they totally overwhelm me. Please keep me in your prayers. I'm dealing with SO much in my life right now and have now for quite a while. I quit posting for a while but I truly believe it helps me to share my gratitude everyday with you my OH family. I am SO grateful to have God in my life.....to depend on him when I feel like I can't go on any longer with what life is tossing my way and lately I feel as though I've got bricks being tossed from me. Oh well....I know God is in control. PLEASE share if you will what you are grateful for today and thank you for the prayers.
Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

Argh! One night, about four years ago, I went to bed with good restriction and woke up in the morning with none. By injecting dye into the port under XRay, the doctor saw I had a leak in the tubing midway between the band and the port. It had to be repaired under general anaesthetic but has been fine ever since.

I had a tightish band (that I could tell was tight), but suddenly without any fills or unfills I can't feel it anymore. I don't get full. I feel hunger pains and all reflux is gone. I'm thinking it's dilation (pouch or esophagus). I just find it strange because the change seems to have happened over night.
Have I got this right. You have a tightish band, get reflux but still feel hunger?
I can't offer answers but maybe some suggestions.
A tight band can cause reflux. After a while, scar tissue can build up which causes the band to tighten and so worsen reflux. Excess acid can cause feelings similar to hunger.
i was banded the same year as you and I have twice had slight tightening which we assumed was caused by scar tissue. Both times the tightness showed by (very mild) night time reflux and both times I had just 0.1cc removed and the problem went away.
