I know I am too tight.  I hardly eat and what I can it is very little.  My nose begins to run almost immediately after I begin to eat.  I have an apoointment with a new surgeon on June 8.  I am hoping he will take me on as a new patient and help me find the sweet location and do this correctly.  ;-)

I had by Lap Band surget in October 2010.  I have lost 45 pounds since.  I have recently made an appointment with a new Surgeon because of this.  I honestly do not eat very much and I Yoga 3-4 times per week.  I have been STUCK at this weight for about 3 years now.  I think my band is too tight, 9cc's.  I am hoping this new surgeon will be able to remove some of the Salin and I am start over.  I do not regret the surgery, just feel like I nver found the sweet spot.  Anyone else feel like this and have success with less restriction?

Being too tight is not only dangerous, it often slows loss as there is a tendency to graze or eat soft foods which are often higher calorie.

Why do you think you are tight? Are you bringing food back? Getting stuck? Reflux? If it is any of those things, you need to get saline out asap.  Being too tight can cause serious and sometimes irreversible damage to your oesophagus and/or vagus nerve.

If you have been the same weight for three years, you are eating the amount your body needs to maintain your current weight. So you need to cut calories.

There are lots of things about our NHS which are worrying!  But it's nothing, NOTHING like as bad as some of your anti-Obamacare politicians portrayed it.  I have always had excellent service from it.

They wouid not have done my surgery in the first place because I didn't have any co-mirbidities but they would almost certainly have done it if I had diabetes or something. But now I have the surgery, all my aftercare is done totally free by the NHS and if I had any problem, they have a legal duty of care to look after me.

I am SO sorry.  Paragraphs help readers to sort through information easier.

I still wish you good luck - sounds like you are having a hard time.

I don't understand situations like this because we have had to pay for our own insurance for a long time now and when the new insurance laws happened (Obamacare) our cost was cut almost in half. It went from well over a thousand a month to about $500 and I have the top notch plan, with my health we have to! I am covered for just about everything. I'm afraid too many people were forced to choose the lower coverage plans or didn't understand how it worked and ended up with really bad plans. All I can say is hubby studied all the plans and picked a top coverage plan for me to make sure I was covered for all my conditions and we still ended up paying less. Yet our daughter has nothing because she can't afford even the least expensive but is on disability. However she also can't get medicaid because disability pays too much. It just makes no sense. I feel for folks that can't get the medical treatment they need it just isn't right that one of the richest nations in the world can't care for the medical needs of all the citizens. Very sad!

Sounds like you need your Band removed and the hiatial hernia repaired.  Been there, done that.  With reflux as bad as you described the Sleeve is not the best option.  I had some similar issues with my Band (from 2006) and revised to RNY and haven't looked back.  I was reluctant  to have what seemed like such drastic surgery but the funny truth is that I feel more normal with my Bypass than I ever did with the Band and the port.

Only you and your Doctor's can know what is right for you.  If you only need to lose a few pounds then you shouldn't need any type of WLS.  If you need to lose a significant amount then WLS is really the best way to go IMO.

Good luck in whatever you decide.

I am anemic and have a mal absorb issue, but like I said, unless a life threatening situation occurs, the HMO says it comes out of my pocket, I was able to get an appointment this afternoon to see my nurse prac. I will see what she says.  Thank you for your advice.
