Hi Bridget - my bandaversery is July 5th 2007!! I've not been on this forum for years but popped in today.
I got my band in 2007 and went from 320 lbs to 220 but then gained back 60 of that original 100. I had to decide that it was a privilege to have my band and that not only did I want to be healthier BUT I DERSERVED to be healthier. Over the last 3 years I have acheived that goal. I work out 3-4 times a week, I eat right (not perfect but within moderation - I do not refuse myself anything that I truly want but I don't eat 3 or 4 of them either) and then weight came off again. I got to a stable 175 lbs and 10 days ago had plastic surgery to remove all the excess skin and residual fat.
I guess what I'm saying is the rules are the rules eat right, work out, get a fill etc but you've gotta accept the fact that you are worthy and that you don't need to hide behind your weight. We all hide behind our weight. That's why I decided to have the 10 pounds of skin and fat removed - because I no longer have to carry the shame of everything I previously hid behind.
Good luck - you've got this if you want it.

Thank you, Nic ---- I so wish that you had been able to have the same luck that I have had.
I appreciate the thoughtful, educational posts and guidance you have provided through the years. It is always good when people can hear both the good and bad sides of the same situation.
I have enjoyed Dr Adam Smith and the staff at Fort Worth Lap Band. It is worth the drive. I live in north Dallas.
Hi Laurel,
Your experience could be me word for word. I miss eating healthy food. I throw up food quite a lot. I have had my consultation for revision but haven't decided if I want to do it or not. How did you make out with the band removal?
It is good that the doctor wants your stomach to heal, I think it's a good thing. Hope you did ok.
Keep us posted.

I have posted Kate's address on the main forum for anyone who would like to send a card to the family. I know it would mean a lot to them as her husband was very touched when I told him of everyone's response. So feel free to send a card, it is more expensive but I think it will be worth it to show her family how important she was to us as well!
I am also starting again after having some complications and being too tight. I am completely emptied at this time and am hungry all of the time. I have gained back 70 of the 80 that I lost. I am trying so hard to eat right but it is so difficult for me ( had a bad afternoon because there was a baby shower with cake) I have a very long ways to go and it feels very discouraging. I am trying to take it one day at a time. good luck!!
