Topic: RE: Kate-True Brit has left us

My heart is heavy by this news.  I adored Kate and missed seeing her posts.  I had strange feeling to come to this board today.  I have not been here in years.  Now I know why.  My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

These are all questions you need to ask you doctor, we have no way of knowing what he will do. If you are concerned I would suggest you call his office and ask him what he expects to do. He my not even know yet what he will do.

Topic: RE: slipped band/prolapsed band and all fluid take out, what to do now?

There is no way to know for sure what will happen sometimes it fixes it but it does tend to make it more likely to slip again in the future. For some it fixes it and for others not.

what should I do now that all the fluid was taken out of my band, I am suppose to go back to the doctor in 3 weeks?

My voice is still raspy and is it likely to slip again after my fill?

Monday I had to go see my doctor, I was coughing, and vomiting.  My voice hasnt come back yet.  Any advise on regaining my voice and will he put all the cc's back?

(The doctor said I must have over eaten and turned the band/prolapse).

Topic: Thank You!!! Support Overwhelming!!!
Thank you so much to everyone *****ached out to me after my post a few weeks ago. In the time since I reached out for help, I went to and met with a new doctor, his nutritionist *****viewed the lap band rules, had an esophagram with barium swallow, and today had my first fill in 5 years. Basically my band is still in great placement, but I had no detectible saline restriction which was allowing me to overeat without consequence. The new doctor will be helping me moving forward and he is very nice. I am so thankful for this tool and look forward to working hard and using my band again. If anyone needs support I would be happy to make new friends and cheer you on. Best, Bridget

I'm glad to hear I'm not alone in this. After several appointments and an esophagram, I got a fill today and feel ready to take this journey further!

  1. Hi, I saw your post and felt compelled to write.  I, too, got my surgery some time ago.  June 2010 to be exact.  I have gone from 340 to 258; current weight 298!  I hope that we can encourage each other to get back on track.  I went to get a fill yesterday!  I wish I could find a list of rules that I initially got after the surgery.  I need to start retraining my mind asap!  Good luck to you!!!
