Good Tuesday Everyone,

We ALL have so very much to be grateful for everyday of our lives. Whether it be something huge or something that we think is almost to small to even mention. We ALL have something. Today I am grateful for my WLS and all the things that I've been able to do since my WLS almost 10 yrs. ago. Grateful that I have been a OH Support Group Leader since 2009. Grateful for Obesity Help and all the amazing people and forums. Grateful for God in my life and my faith, my family and friends, my surgeon's support group and my own support group. Grateful for all the encouragement and support from sometimes people that I've never met here on OH. LIfe for me the last few years has been extremely difficult due to choices that one of my son's decided to make. Thank God I finally got him into treatment and now I can now get back to working on me and I am SO grateful for that. Grateful for life, my health and prayers being answered. PLEASE share if you will what you are grateful for today and have a blessed day !!!

I am 8 years out with no problems either Brooklyn!  I love my band and it totally saved my life.  I would be dead now or close to it if I didn't lose the 85 pounds I did.  Still have 50 to go but a bout with breast cancer derailed me for a year or so. I would be well over 350 pounds or more now if I wasn't banded.  I realize with another type of surgery I would be at goal by now but I am 55 and in no rush.  I am healthy and alive!  The band was new when I first got it and  I am sure all the complications were not known back then.  I guess I was one of the lucky ones.  Just had a complete upper GI series because I had to find a new surgeon.  My old one moved and my new one wanted to make sure everything was in place.  Not sure it would be what I would choose today but consider myself one of the fortunate ones!  Happy for you too!

Topic: MONDAY GRATEFUL POST

Good Monday Everyone,

Hope you had a great weekend and are looking forward to a 4 day week. Everyday of our lives we should wake up with a grateful heart. Grateful for the tool that we have been blessed with by having our WLS or if your still in the process of having your surgery of the hope that lies in that upcoming tool. Today I am so grateful for my "tool of choice" although I never reached my goal weight.....I shutter at the thought of where my weight would be today if I hadn't had my WLS going on 10 yrs. ago. Life has NOT been perfect for me but if you read my posts...you already know this. I have had a regain and I am trying to wrap my head around getting into the right mindset to get going and get it off. Thank GOD due to this tool I've been blessed with....I KNOW I can get it off with hard work....good choices....and perseverance. SO grateful for hope and 2nd and even sometimes 3rd chances at making wiser and better choices everyday. Grateful to God for loving me unconditional and giving me peace back in my life. Grateful for support and encouragement and hugs from friends during this very difficult time in my life that I have just gone through and are still going through to a certain extent. Grateful for prayers and that God is always there for me. Grateful for my WLS, friend, family, OH who has been part of my life now for over 11 yrs. Grateful for a new day every morning. PLEASE share if you will what you are grateful for today and have a super blessed day !!!

That is good news. I'm on Omeprazole, too, and it does seem to help with reflux.

Good luck at the doc. Hope you get good news.

Any update, Omar? Are you okay?

I also lost my voice often while banded. I think the high pressure on the esophagus might have something to do with it, but I'm not sure. Hope you're doing okay.
