Checking in 3 Yeah BandAversary

Just wanted to take a moment from my day to give an update. I had my Surgery 04/04/2011 and am still doing fantastic. I am Maintaining at goal and can't be happier. I lost 105 lbs and then gained back 20 lbs. after a slight decrease in fluid in my band. I am comfortable where I am at even with the 20 lbs.

I guess what I can say at this point in my life is that I am finally where the number on my scale and the size of pants and shirts I am wearing don't consume me and I am loving that.

Yes my band is a pain in my ass some days, but at least my ass fits in size 8 jeans. :)

Well done! I know there are horror stories out there but it is always good to remember that there are successes too!

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

WooHoo! You look wonderful. The band is a pain sometimes but I would not give up my band. Keep up the good work. Mona

I am in the process of getting approved for the lap band surgery. it is what I am the most comfortable with since it does not involve slicing up your intestines. Anyway, I am wondering what you mean when you say the band is a pain sometimes...  Can you explain?

Thanks !

I am scheduled to have the Lap Band procedure on 6/24.  I am starting to freak out and wonder if I should get the gastric sleeve instead.  If you were to do it over, would you do the band again?

Mine's scheduled for 6/30 and I feel the same way! I knew that less people got the Band than the sleeve, but was shocked to read so many horror stories. I wonder if it's the right choice...or if the success stories are just too busy enjoying life to write about it!
