Band Question

Hey all. I am 3 years and almost 4 months out from my band. I had a slight fill in March that put me at 9.3 cc's, my band holds 11cc's. I am able to eat a ton of food and always feel hungry. Which is NOT normal for me. I used to only be able to eat about 6 oz. I have gained about 10 lbs back since I have been more hungry lately. Has this happened to anyone else? What could be causing this? Thought I would come here before making a Dr Appt.

Maybe you need another small fill? Are you starting meals with dense protein, choosing crunchy over soft foods?

Probably silly questions as at three years out you know how to do this!

But if you have no restriction, despite a recent fill, maybe you need to get checked out. Leaks can happen.

I do my protein/meat first. Always. I actually was able to eat bread which I had not been able to until now. :/

That really doesn't sound right at all, you should be feeling restriction at that level. Leaks are very possible at any point. Sometimes they can accidentally hit the tubing with the needle or it just breaks for whatever reason. If I were you I would see the surgeon again, he should be able to check it by pulling out what is in there and comparing it to his records. I hope you are able to resolve the situation soon.

I had a leak at around four years post-op,

I had lost restriction and had surgery Friday to replace my port and tubing.  Had a small leak in the tubing. So I can't wait to get my restriction back!

How did you know you had an issue to begin with?

In July I realized I had my band too tight and they thought my pouch was a little dilated so they removed all my fluid to let it rest for a couple of weeks. We've been trying to get restriction ever since. That's what led them to suspect a leak

My leak was dramatic. Went to bed with good restricition. Woke up with none at all. Not in doubt 

That is my issue!
