Hi everybody, I decided to have my LAST FLING WITH FOOD, lol (BEFORE MY COMMENT TO MY WLS) lol I cooked a big feast yesterday, when I finished I couldn't believe how I felt. I was over whelmed to know before I stared my 6 months diet I used to eat this, and go back for seconds. I couldn't do it I felt sick just the thought of eating everything I cook etc.   I have to say I'm looking at food differently now. Amazing, I thought it would  take surgery to change how i think. I'm glad mentally I'm changing before WLS!!!! MY MIND NO LONGER CONTROL HOW I EAT ( EATING WHILE NOT HUNGRY AND  JUNK FOOD ETC) I'm ONLY listening to my stomach (hunger)   Now I can say I'm a recovery food addict.    HAPPY WEIGHT LOSS!!!

Sounds like you don't need to bother with surgery.

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

I'm still going to have surgery, still need extra help with hunger. My appetite  has not change.

Always  good to get your head sorted. Remember that for many, the band does not dim hunger until several months and several fills post-op. So good to get you eating patterns changed ready!

Congratulations on getting a handle on food!  As a fellow addict I know how hard that is.  Unfortunately unlike alcohol, which my DH had an addiction to, we can't just not eat every again.  (Which he hasn't done in 19 years)  We still have to eat something to live.

The sleeve has taken care of the stomach hunger.  I work with a therapist to help with the head issues.

You are being so strong!  Keep it up!

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

It sounds like you've gained control of your eating and you do not need WLS.  Good job and all best on your WL journey.  There is a non surgery weight loss support forum on here.

Best,

L
