Hi everyone, no matter what kind of surgery we are getting we all have to prepare our stomach and mind for a big change after surgery. I started the gym today and ONLY did 25 min on bike and 10 on elliptical. I know it's not a lot but with my weight this should be expected. I'm doing lead and green, protein shakes for snacks nuts and mozzarella sticks other words 20 gram carbs a day.  My dietitian have me getting use to a new way of eating.  There are days  I fall off but I get back on. If any body out there please post give me more ideas on preparing for WLS THANKS!!!!

MAKE sure that you have a GOOD Aftercare Program and Support Group it's 80% of the Struggle with a BAND.

If you develop problems with the band and your Doctor won't listen GET A NEW DR.

You're doing GREAT! Keep up the good work & stay motivated. Preparation clearly helps with the transition. Give yourself credit for what you accomplish. Good luck!

Congrats! 35 minutes of exercise is by far better than none. You will build up to more as you go, stay focused you can do it.

You are doing all the right things. The exercise you have done is super. Prior to mine, when I first started out I could only walk for 5 minutes and it would wipe me out and cause pain for at least another day or 2. I finally got up to 15 min right before surgery.

With any new eating plan it is difficult to stick 100% at first. It will get easier, especially when you begin to see weight dropping. Remember, though, many do not lose with their bands until they reach their optimal fill level. I did lose but I was quite strict with myself, even though I was very hungry until I was cleared to eat dense protein. Hang in there, you will be glad you did.

Be patient with yourself and remember to forgived and move on. It will take patience to change your lifestyle. You must learn to forgive yourself when you mess up and you will, the key tho is to forgive and move on. Don't waste energy beating yourself up, use the energy to move on and make the changes you need to. Keep coming here for more ideas and support.
