I'm sorry you're having such a hard time. I was allergic to my external staples so I get what you're saying. Trust your gut instinct here.

I just wanted to thank you for starting a separate thread here for your problems.  I like to help people but don't like to post to people other than the OP on threads.

I just wanted to note that the person I worked with at my insurance when I wanted the band removed had a band.  My insurance had gone to once in a life time WLS policy.  She did a verbal appeal to get the band removed without a hitch.  The reason, she had a band for six months.  She stated that she went thru 6 months of hell from the very first day.  So I do believe it happens and even working for the insurance company it still took her six months to get the surgeon and insurance to agree to remove it.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

Thank you as well. I am hoping that there's something they can do to stop these symptoms while I wait to have it removed. I pray they don't try to jive me around for 6 months.

Is there anyway you can go to the hospital that your surgeon is out of?

You may not be allergic to the band, but it is possible.  You could be very swollen, there could be fluid in the band, the band could have been placed to high.  There really could be a number of reasons your are feeling so bad.

You definately need to stay hydrated.  Best of luck to you.

Since my surgeon wasn't on call, I could have made the long drive but would not have been seen by him or any other bariatric surgeon. I'm set to see him this Wednesday so I'm hanging in there as best as I can. I sip throughout the day. Thank you very much for your reply :-)
