WOW my FEELINGS is ....
I'm pretty burned out too, but I haven't been at it as long as you, Zee and Michelle. It's hard to come to these pages and see the noobs all excited about something that could do them irrepairable harm, risk being called names, stalked (yep, been stalked by a pro band member of another site) banned (been banned by said site, even though I was the stalkee, not stalker).
Some days I wonder why I bother, then today....someone finally gets that we're not bashing, we are trying to help. That makes it worth it.
Why would a psychologist's opinion matter at all for this? He/she is not a bariatric surgeon in any capacity.

Do me a favor before you leave...go to page 417 of this forum. Many of the same people who are advising you against the band, posting about our NSVs, asking questions, that was US, supporting each other, looking forward to a healthier life.
We were YOU....we didn't want to hear the negative, the complications, the lifetime damage. By all means, do your research on YouTube, this forum, Facebook, etc. I suggest you also listen to what the folks told you on your previous threads. To make an informed consent to surgery, you must be able to hear it all, or I'm very sorry, you are going to be very surprised when you have a hiccup. As I told you before, Kate is the only person on here who still has her original band. Look at page 415,416,417....read the posts. Most, if not all had complications and have removed or revised.
We aren't here to scare you, but help you...since you asked. When you ask a question, that's what you get; stuff you want to hear, a lot you don't want to hear and everything in between...
Like I said, I disagree with your decision, but I respect it. I support YOU, not your choice of surgery.
I'm grateful that there are people like you who post here. One of my regrets is not joining this forum BEFORE I made my decision to have the band. I chose it out of fear of not being able to reverse any other procedure in case there were complications. Here I sit, living the complications. I am 100 pounds lighter than others who have had the band and my surgeon told me that I would not lose the amount of weight I needed to lose. In my mind, I wasn't hoping that the band would do all of the work for me. However, I WAS hoping that I would merely be restricted. Not sick & in pain for no reason. As scientists say when there is an outbreak, there is always atleast one human being who has some type of natural immunity that can be used to form a vaccine. There are some bandsters who choose to live with the complications and some who have none. But the reality is that more bandsters seem to have severe complications with the band.

Bit about me bring the only one is not quite true! On this thread, yes! And as you know I do not deny the complications! But I am still in touch with OH members who still have their original bands, the longest I know being (I think) 12 years out now. But I fully accept that very many do not have their original bands, including Bette and Nana.

No one knows if the band will or will not work for them until they have it. Just like they don't know if the sleeve or RNY will work for them. All surgery's have complications. Talk to your doctor and make the best decision you can for you. Everyone on here has an opinion based on their experience. There are some who like to tell people to have the sleeve or RNY even if they have not had it them self. Due your research and talk to your Doc. Good luck in which ever you decide.
