well, I posted a few weeks ago about having Band trouble..  Not losing, getting stuck, vomiting and feeling depressed. I went to the doctors today (surgeon) talked to a new doctor/dietician. She is a band to RNY revision, had her ban 5 yrs and it didn't work for her (vomiting, stuck and not losing) I really enjoyed talking to her. She understood everything I was going thru and more. We talked for 45 mins. She says she thinks I am a good candidate for revision, but it was between me and my surgeon. She gave me some infor on both revisions (RNY and the Sleeve), She said I will need a few tests to make sure their isn't anything else going on, I see the surgeon on Feb. 24th.. i am really looking forward to this appt. Have gained back 35 lbs. :(.... She told me not to beat myself up about this and that I am not a failure. The band works for some ppl. But, i told her I was a Band cheerleader when I first got it... I just do not know what went wrong... I will post after my next appt... just lurking for now... Thanks for all your support.. You guys are fantastic... Been on this board since 2008... Glad you are here for us who need support....Hugs..."Lucky"

Always good to see you Lucky! So glad things are looking good for your revision. He I think we were all band cheerleaders in the begining but for some of us things change so no don't beat yourself up!

Certainly don't beat yourself up.  As Hislady says, we all started out as cheerleaders! But even the most contented vet (like me) is now aware that things can go wrong through no fault of the banded person. Only newbies have rose-tinted glasses!

Best wishes, Kate

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

The reality is, obesity is a hard disease to fight, and it's not uncommon for it to take more than one procedure to treat it. This is not a personal failure! Do your homework and be sure RNY is what you want before you get it, but don't beat yourself up about the regain!

Banded 03/22/06  276/261/184 (highest/surgery/lowest)

Sleeved 07/11/2013  228/165 (surgery/current) (111lbs lost)
