Miserable

Hi Nic. How are things for you these days?

Whatever the cause, this poster needs medical help.  The fact that, as she said herself, she has not followed rules may or may not be relevant, she is where she is! And that is not a good place. My concern is that her symptoms, apart from port pain, may or may not be band related. Other medical problems can produce the symptoms she describes. By sitting back and telling herself it is her band, she could be allowing a condition to develop unchecked. I am not saying they are not the band! But there are other, quite serious, possible health problems which  need investigating.

By the way, the other poster you refer you was just irritated because Bubbles changed her story and then edited out contradictory statements only when someone pointed them out. I'm glad she won't see your post because making fun of spelling doesn't encourage people to feel comfortable posting on here! I'd rather everyone felt able to post, grammar and typos aren't relevant here, health is.

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

I must have skimmed over and not seen that you also accuse Bubbles of "noncompliance." What does that even mean?  Do you really think that she'd still have her band after so long if she were truly "noncompliant?" The band has a way of punishing the bandster and I'm pretty sure if she were truly screwing up left and right, she would have had problems prior to today.

I don't understand why it's so hard for people to believe that this device can cause a lot of damage on its own.  The problem is that I've witnessed too many instances in which the patient is blamed for the band's failure and to me it's like blaming someone for getting cancer or some other life threatening disease. "You shouldn't have..." isn't the first thing that comes to mind when someone tells you that they have cancer, so why is it okay for people to say that to people who are having complications from gastric banding, I wonder?

I'm not so much making fun of spelling as I am pointing out the fact that people who can't be bothered to even look at what they're posting are telling this lady that she's doing things wrong and implying that she deserves whatever she's going through.

Nic, all I said was that as she herself said she didn't follow rules, she might be eating the wrong foods which might aggravate her ulcer.  I added the rider because she told Cheyenne that she had never said she didn't follow rules. Which she did! In a previous post.  I am not one who nit-picks to find inconsistencies, everyone makes those over the years. But it was unfair on Cheyenne who used Bubbles' own words. Bubbles then edited her post to remove her denial, this meant that my rider looked as if I were "getting at" Bubbles when all I was doing was reminding her of her own words which she denied saying! She is also now saying she didn't have an erosion, which she previously said she had.

i am not a doctor but I do know the symptoms she describe could also be related to serious medical conditions! flu-like symptoms for three years? She needs to see a general doctor to rule out lupus, leukaemia etc.. Not saying it isn't the band. We have no way of knowing,  but the key is, she needs to see a doctor and if she thinks it is her band and it is not getting worse, she might delay this. In fact, she already has!  It is foolhardy to feel as ill as she describes for so long and not get medical help.

Thanks for clarifying.

I hope Bubbles can find medical help and feel better, regardless of what is causing the physical distress.
