Updates on Lisa and Vicki
OK Lisa got her trach out and can now talk and sing!(a huge relief for her) She can do 2 loops around the floor now. The biggest hurdle now is her tummy healing, it needs to heal from the inside out and may need another small procedure to help it along. She'll need wound care every 3 days which is fairly lengthy so they may use a light anesthesia to help her thru it. She's in intermediate care right now since that is where the wound specialists are. The next step is finding a place where she can get the continuing care while she recovers some more.
Now for Vicki it is almost a repeat of Lisa. Vicki is non-responsive but it is because she is sedated while the vent and trach are being weaned, She has an excellent doc who is available to the family. One of the nurses said she was following their movement around the room with her eyes (good sign) She is still having dialysis because of the trauma shutting her kidneys down but they feel that is temporary and just until the kidneys heal. Her hubby Bob has pneumonia which is difficult to treat with him being in bed so much but he too is fighting the good fight.
So many prayers have been answered and many more are needed but things are looking better on both fronts.
I am keeping them both in my prayers.
Thank you for the update
