Hello everyone!
on 11/22/13 8:51 am
The board seems a bit slow. I haven't been here in a long time but I think about everyone often. I am going to the GI on Monday and and will hopefully have a scope soon. My band is empty and I am gaining weight like crazy despite the fact that I am counting calories and exercising. I just went for blood work to see if they can figure out what is wrong. I am ashamed that the band failed or I failed with the band. I am also frustrated and depressed about regaining.
I wish I had listened to the voice in my head that said "It isn't too late to not get the band." I was so desperate for help losing weight.............not sure where I go from here.

The band fails a great many of us so please don't feel bad about yourself! If nothing can be found wrong with your band you may need to consider a different surgery. Many of the long time bandsters are finding they have to revise because the band just doesn't end up working out the way we were told it would. It sounded good in theory but just didn't work out that well.
Amanda,
It's good to see you here, but I'm sorry to hear that you're struggling. Please don't blame yourself or your band for your weight regain. No matter what WLS you have, there is no guarantee of weight loss or no weight regain. We all struggle with a chronic, incurable disease. WLS is the only long-term treatment available, but it's not a cure.
