Fat Clothes
I didn't keep any of my fat clothes - not one stitch. I wanted NO reminders of how big I was. I felt that if I kept even one piece then that would become my security piece meaning if I gained weight back than I'd have something to wear and I wanted no parts of that. Mind game? Perhaps so, but it worked for me. I was able to pay it forward and gave my work clothes to other OH members and, they too, were able to pay it forward and so on...
I have a confession to make. I never threw any fat cloths away when I was banded. Two of my daughters and I seemed to take turns going up and down yo-yoing. The fat cloths made the circuit several times and landed at my house and I couldn't bring myself to throw them away.
With the help of the therapist and permission of the DD's I have donated everything from size 22-28, some with price tags still on it. When I told the therapist she said she never believed I would go thru with it. I am rounding up the 18-20's now but the DD's haven't said rather I can dump them or not, if I can. The therapist did advise keeping one set and I have, Layne Bryant size 7 jeans, size 26/28 elastic pants with draw strings and 3X tops
When I got rid of the various sizes of my fat clothes, I felt like I'd lost another chunk of weight. I took them to Goodwill. Later, a friend told me she'd taken her fat clothes to a consignment shop where they sold well and earned her enough money to buy some cute, smaller size clothes. I kind of wish I'd done that too, but it's too late now. They've all gone bye-bye, hopefully never to return!
