Curious what the success rate has been for anyone undergoing a lap band after gastric bypass?

If you've had it was it succesful?  Are you now back on the losing side? do you find it harder?do you feel like you should have left well enough alone or are you glad you took charge and controlled the issue once again before it got to out of control?

The success rate of BOB (band over bypass) varies. But we have some very successful ones on here. One regular poster may well come here to answer you herself but if not, look up Heathercross.

Highest 290, Banded - 248   Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.

Happily banded since May 2006.  Regain of 28lbs 2013-14.  ALL GONE!

But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

Long term the stats are quite poor, really they are about the same as a virgin band.  There used to be a person here, Lisa, who had  a band over bypass and everyone would show her off as such a successful band over bypass person.  They don't use her anymore because she finally revised to DS.

The more surgeries you have on your stomach the less likely you will be able to have a revision to something that actually works long term in the future.  :o/

It's been quite awhile now.  She contacted me on another board and I was shocked, I didn't know she revised either.  But, she's finally doing very well.  No more band complications.  She is far happier now.
