I D

We got home last night from our hiking adventure in Spain.

I hiked 150 miles in 11 days over there.

We flew to Madrid and had 12 hours to kill and to stay awake, so we took the Metro to City Center and walked about 10 miles just wandering and enjoying the sites.

then, we took an overnight train to Sarria.  We dropped our 1 bag at a local hotel (it was transferred for us each day), put on our individual backpacks (about 11 pounds) and started with a 25 km hike.

it took 5 days to get to the Cathedral in Santiago and we stayed there for 2 nights to enjoy the city and rest.

then, we started the 4 day hike to Finnesterra ... Literally the "end of earth" ... Where we saw the lighthouse and enjoyed a fabulous seafood dinner with a couple from the UK

we took a bus back to Santiago, then a flight to Madrid and another 10 mile sightseeing day there and then finally back home to Arizona.

five years ago, I could not walk around the block .... Thanks to my weight loss, I am able to go and do and live out adventures I used to only dream about.

i am grateful!!!

Congrats to you! My knees ache just THINKING about all the walking.

And if someone had told you a few years ago that you'd be doing all that hiking in 2013, you would have thought they were insane.

What a great time!  My youngest daughter did the AT, 6 months, over 2000 miles and a 40 pound lost. Your's sounds much more to my liking.  Maybe someday.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

Fantastic accomplishment Kath.

Remember, if you want to be a 155 pound person, you have to EAT like one.
