Sure not the good old days.

For me, it wasn't always about advice  and support. A lot of times it was a place to say "Ugh, my husband/boss/kid/friend/neighbor is being an asshole/a jerk/a sweetheart/a ballbuster and I just need to vent", or "OMG my puppy did the funniest freaking thing!" or "Hey! I crossed my legs for the first time in 19 years!"

Yep, I was one that posted about crossing my legs and sit in the tub without fear of getting stuck.  And this is the place I could come and tell my OH family I had a new grand baby on the way.

OK..I will revise...perhpas the problem is now it seems that there are so FEW threads about the subject matter and then a BOMB of threads about hugs, human perpensity, photo download....yada yada yada. No need to come to the band board if it is rarely about the band.

IMHO the problem with this post is that it's another off topic post that is criticizing the content of this board.  It's a public board and not everyone wants to talk Lapband success....to be told that posting about complications, removal, revision, dogs, cats, funny stories, family crisis, etc leaves a very narrow topic window.

I enjoyed the old days too...when my band worked, didn't hurt me.  Unfortunately, the old days are over✌

I think, if you read my posts, you will see The discussion evolved from my original post. But since you went there, I never criticized anything about complications, removal, revision. And yeah...it is a narrow topic window as they do have other forums for off topic discussions. I came back to help and find 4 bombs about idiocy not worth my time, having nothing to do with anything...not even a connection to the people. Just spammed crap. Your comment about how you "enjoyed the old days too...when my band worked, didn't hurt me. Unfortunately, the old days are over" implies that I have some desire to only see proband posts which is nowhere in my post at all. That also reveals that your post was purly reactionary and you ahve no idea what my very public opinion/position on teh band is.

I've been reading your posts, was referring to not just your "complaint" but Bette's as well. Didn't mean to offend. This board is what it is and telling people that off topic posts aren't ok is sort of pointless....sorry if I overstepped.

I guess it is just sooo different than what it used to be. There were so many threads that the odd off topic was not the predominant activity. I am guessing I didn't say what I meant very well.

You sure hit that right on. Since I came back I have kind of grieved the support/team effort we used to feel here

Anyone else notice that when all the "negative" people left a couple of years ago the forum died?  It's always blamed on people who tell the whole truth about the band but the reality is quite different.  All the truth tellers left, the forum died, and now you get what you get.

OH posts here more than the members do... annoyingly so.
