Someday, when they actually see fit to disclose ALL the complications that accompany gastric banding, the referred left shoulder pain will be included in their studies, I'd hope. And I've also noticed a new pattern of Bell's Palsy occurring in banded patients recently. It's a "coincidence" when it happens a couple of times, but I've seen quite a pattern developing lately.  

So, in addition to band slips, erosion, esophageal issues, etc. people need to be aware of the other after effects that aren't listed.

 Our center is still saying they studied the left shoulder and it isn't "real".  Try telling that to the growing numbers with it.  I don't believe it will ever show up as nobody will documente it as they are being told it isn't happening.

Seeing as Allergan has Shoulder Pain listed in it's Complications, So to that I say the Doctors etc... aren't bothering to read the insert  literature/complications list

wow! I get the left shoulder pain--- am having it right now, I didn't know anyone else got that,,, that is good to know.  Does anyone get right chest pain? I do and have yet to figure out why

I cant wait to get the $$ saved and say farewell to this band!
