what wls ...... after a rny and lap band?
There is the DS duodenal switch but you need a very experienced revision surgeon to do it and there are only a few in the whole world, ask on the DS forum, theyy will know which is best. If neither RNY or band have worked tho then it sounds like you may want to get some professional counceling to see why you are not having success with surgery. Many of our issues can be very deep seated and not even recognized by us. So unless that is dealt with even the DS can fail.
I agree with hislady, but I want to mention that your decision to have another WLS procedure would also depend on what (if any) side effects and complications you experienced with RNY & the band that may have contributed to disappointing weight loss. What does your surgeon think about this? Do you maybe need a second (or third) opinion?
The causes of obesity are so numerous and intertwined that I sometimes think there will never be a cure or even a safe, effective treatment for it. WLS is still the best long term treatment, but success isn't guaranteed.
I would hesitate to have DS (duodenal switch), mostly because it seems so riskiy. A few years ago a wonderful OH member who had failed to lose weight with RNY and the band decided to have DS, and she died of complications of the surgery.
Good luck.

Is there a wls to be had... if... you've had a gastric rny and a lap band in the past?
That kind of depends on a few factors. Did you have RNY first and the band eroded your pouch? Or did you have a band and then revised to RNY?
I kind of agree with His Lady, maybe before jumping into a 3rd (and final, btw) WLS, you might to look into some therapy first.
Your profile gives your BMI as 29.9. This means your insurance company probably isn't going to cover a revision, unless you can show 'medical necessity' for one.
I'd suggest you contact Dr. Ara Keshishian, in Glendale, CA. He's one of the world's most experienced WLS revision surgeons. If anyone can help you surgically, he can.
