Anyone 8 years plus out and NOT had problems
my problem was always not getting enough protein which is still the problem.. I have resorted back to protein shakes to try to get back on track.. but I am not able to drink them in the mornings.. so going to try them for lunch or supper.. plus the water intake its a big deal for me.. I have got to get it together and get back to the basics and start from the beginning just a a lower weight

I am 7 years out. I kniow a lot of people say the band failed you but really it's just a tool. It's easy to lax and eat the wrong things happens all the time everyone is human. Just go back to the basics and workout at least 3x's a week it will start to work again just takes time to re adjust. I have gained weight back but I know it's because I made the wrong choices and I was lazy. The weight fell off after my surgery I did nothing really I got spoiled now I got so lazy and thought it would come off easy again this time around I see I have to really put an effort and make a life change. Obviously for the people who have had issues with their band that's a different story I have had 4 slips and we fianlly figured otu that i an only have fills up to where I am out anymore is to tight for me. Well good luck everyone just try to refocus and motivate yourself like when you first got the surgery when you see results u will totally get back in the swing of thihngs!!!
Over seven years out and had one major problem, tubing leak repaired about three years ago. For me, that was a small price to pay for the almost six years I have had of being slim, active and healthy. Otherwise, no issues. I am very proactive and respond to any possible issue.
i cannot speak for others but I do know a lot of banded people (real life not online) from all different stages. A quick calculation tells me that at least 12 of them are over six years out. One has had a replacement band (she was first banded nine years ago and has had her second band for about seven years now), one had a serious slip and had to have her band removed but admits openly that she abused her band and used it as a tool to make herself sick and then allow herself to eat more. My doctor told me his "oldest" band patient is 12 years post-op and is doing well. At my last routine check up, I met three other people and at 7 years, my band was the newest! The others said all was well with them.
Highest 290, Banded - 248 Lowest 139 (too thin!). Comfort zone 155-165.
Happily banded since May 2006. Regain of 28lbs 2013-14. ALL GONE!
But some has returned! Up to 175, argh! Off we go again,

I am having trouble too. I have had periods of time where I eat junk because it is all I can get to stay down. But my activity level is very high and I simply cannot afford to eat poorly and try to do all I do. I hike, trek, kayak, bike and do crossfit. When I trekked to Mount Evereset Base Camp it was an 8 day hike at high altitude burning 500 calories an hour for hours on end. I could not eat enough to sustain me, threw up what I was trying to eat and had to be heli-vacted from 17,500 feet off of Mount Everest. Now I am going to peru to trek and I will not allow myself to be in a position where I can only keep in about 600 calories a day while burning litterally thousands. I aspirate at least a couple nights a week even if It has been hours since consuming anything. I live a lot on protein shakes which simply have too many carbs. I also exhaust on teh trail and get dehydrated because when I am hiking at over 100 degrees F and need water, I cannot get it down. Sometimes a glass of water in teh AM is still there after noon!
Yes, it does. I just hope my doc sees it that way. Appointment on Tuesday and we will see. II am a bit worried but feel like with all the grains out of my diet, I can fight hard. I am fighting WITH the band, I can fight without it. It got the weight off that I needed to prevent complete sedentary life and back failure. Now it is on me.
