I just threw up.
They would be incredibly wrong. Too tight is not being able to eat solid or nutritive quantities of foods. I'm very capable of that, even chicken. I pb'd after eating reheated Thai rubber chicken, after not chewing sufficiently. I could eat like a football player right now, by volume, though I try not to.
I am no novice to WLS- just the band. I had bypass. I got stuck several times with bypass, as has every bypass patient, but it doesn't mean their surgery is too tight; it means they didn't chew...or as bypass patients likewise say, some pouches don't like some foods. I've gotten uncomfortable in the past year pre band and post bypass, despite my stoma being a black hole. I know people who have unfilled their bands, have no damage (per their doctor before anyone yells), but who can pb from eating dry chicken quickly. Even you said bread is out of your diet because of the way your body responds.
I also would bet i couldn't find one bandster who hasnt pb'd before learning proper eating rules...too fast, too much....not due to tightness.
Why this rant? Because if I hadn't had a surgeons appointment today, I would have worried that this surgery would never work for me. That i was too tight despite NO restriction. Though they gave me the smallest fill in the history of mankind, and the surgeons office said I have plenty of room to go with fills, after they used the drop method to assess my band pressure.
I'm sure you meant well. Just remember what it was like to wonder if this was going to work for you. 50% of the battle is mental.

Sounds like you just agreed and verified what they say. Not sure why you stated they would be incredibly wrong
Please add me as a friend. I tried to add you, but your profile is set to private. I'm having a band over bypass next month and trying find those with similar situations. I totally agree with what you said. My stoma is HUGE, but I still on occasion get stuck and end up having to puke. It happened to me recently with turkey bacon. Not fun.
