Anyone have hernia after lap band?

I have gained 20 lbs. the surgeon found a hiatal hernia and wants to repair it. I am awaiting insurance approval to switch to the sleeve. I have to be honest that I won't be bummed if they denied the surgery. I do love my band but have never gotten near goal.
Has anyone had a hernia repaired and been able to keep their band? I hear the older bands break repairing the hernia.

What were yoyr symptoms? ? I see my surgeon on monday for routine but am going to have him check. .I can feel q lump and I get a buring sensation.

Sorry- I had my hernia repair post RNY, and during my band over bypass surgery. The fact that they immediately put my band in makes me think yours is possible though. Best of luck!
