Insurance Turned me down.... Suggestions?
Most insurance state your have to have a bmi of 40 or more or have a bmi of 35 with other co-morbs. I had high blood pressure and was boarder line diabetes with a thicken heat valve. I had had my band removed for problems and still had to met the bmi of 35 with co-morbs to get the revisions surgery.

Appeal! Ask around and you can find some files on ins. appeal for revision. Good luck!!!
Maria- An appeal isn't going to work in this case. She just plain doesn't meet the requirements. She's self pay for the time being.

I have United Healthcare... I am 35 BMI... I am so totally bummed out.. It took me a long time to decide on which procedure I wanted finally got right in my head and now I am rejected.... Told I would have to weigh 27lbs more or be on some type of meds.
Maybe this is a blessing you just can't see yet. It gives you more time to consider safer surgery types?
But I still understand the disappointment.
You can do what most do, self pay. But I would never self pay for a band, that is amazingly expensive.
