As Dr. Simpson said, the Lap band does not wor****il 1-2 hrs after eating, it's very true for...

When I got the band almost 8 years ago, we were always seeking that 'sweet spot" and looking for the band to pretty much stop us from eating. Well we all know that was not how the band is REALLY suppose to work.
I have followed Dr. Simpson's advice and started eating slowly, and stop eating at about 3-4oz per meal. Could I eat more? Yes, but if I stop and move away from the table I notice about 1 hour later I am actually not hungry and I tend to get fuller the longer I wait.
So, the band really does not wor****il after you have eaten solid food, for about 1 hour, and I will start to drink liquids, water, tea, etc, and I feel so full and don't want to eat another bite and I really don't get hungry for dinner.
But I wanted to add this too, even when I drank a protein shake, and wait for about 1 hour, and start drinking water, I still get full at least with my new band, but I stay satiated longer with solids than protein drinks.
Just thought I would share this important rule with the and and how it is suppose to work.
With a too tight band, you may not be able to get enough solids through the band without vomiting, and this will probably make you hungrier, and eat junk and easy things that slide through the band, and you may not lose any weight, but you may gain a complication with a too tight band.

This is how my sleeve works too. I eat 2-3oz per meal. I feel satiated with this amount and I remain satiated for hours - no hunger at all. I have to wait at least 30 minutes after a meal before I can drink something. Sometimes, I have to wait an hour.
I guess that the only difference between us is that I actually can not eat more than 3oz,. There's just no room. I try to never get close to this point either. Once I am satiated, I stop.
This was my understanding of how the "sweet spot" worked all along and what I thought the band was designed to do for everyone. Honestly, this is how it was with my band too. I stayed full on a small amount of food. I think that is the point between both restrictive surgeries.

Good to hear you are doing well with your Sleeve, the sweet spot worked for my old band and new band, I get that same feeling from both bands, where I made my biggest mistake with my old band, I kept pushing the envelope and kept getting fills, when I did not need them, I went past my sweet spot ...into the red zone and dilated my pouch in my first year of being banding back in 2006....and this ruined my old band, after my band was ruined, I was constantly getting unfills and refills.
We were learning back then 8 years ago, I think I was Dr. Moazzez's 10 lap band patient and my old band was not meant to last forever anyway, because he did not repair a haital hernia that I had, most surgeons in the US were not routinely repairing them back them. So I guess I had to be a guinea pig for future lap banders...lol...
I do NOT plan on getting any unfills with my new band and I don't want to damage it by being too tight, and I am more happy with my new band over all, no heartburn, reflux and great restriction, so I am blessed for that and no PPi's, however it took this new band about 5 months before I reached optimal restriction, and that's ok, I probably can use about.2cc more in my band, but I will wait it out and see how long this good restriction lasts, my band works a lot like your Sleeve, no stuck feelings, or vomiting, I have not vomited at all since I had this new band, I did however slime, when I took a bite out of my husbands hotdog at a street fair last week...lol...but other than that I can eat a bite of frui****ermelon, if I want it but can't do more than a bite and I am happy overall...and very happy I gave the lap band a new chance, and more importantly I am losing weight again.
Good luck to you.
